Glenn Beck has been ranting and raving about how great America’s health-care system is on FOX News, sending crazies into the wilds of “town hall” meetings to echo the message. But what if it turned out that this Glenn Beck character actually had a very different real-life experience with his own health, and talked all about that, way back in, oh, 2008? Comedy? Tragedy? Little bit of both? Check, check and checkmate. Thank you, Jon Stewart and “The Daily Show” for calling Beck out on this. If only he had used Beck’s “Get Off My Phone You Pinhead!” dance remix for this, or also somehow reminded us of the time he said Jimmy Carter was worse than Hitler. Yes, that Hitler.
Over on “The Colbert Report,” meanwhile, Stephen Colbert pointed out how commercial sponsors are bailing on Beck because they realize that it’s one thing to be a lunatic on TV, but it’s another to be a lunatic and just plain wrong about life. Like, oh, the time Beck called President Barack Obama a racist who hates white people?!? Yes, that actually happened, too.
