Pentagon Declares War on Facebook

The Pentagon, in their never ending search for new enemies, has found one in Facebook. Deputy Defense Secretary, William Lynn ordered a review of the social networking site to ascertain it’s threats and benefits. The review determined that Facebook was a threat because it exposed vital information to our adversaries. Evidently some soldiers were being a bit too candid in their status updates; for example.

Sgt. Johnson is heading out on a top secret mission 30 kilometers due north of Baghdad. I hate Mondays:(

Cpl. Smith is on his Sentry Post outside Headquarters and I forgot to bring bullets! LoL

Lynn imposed an immediate ban on Facebook upon hearing the review but critics of the Pentagon’s decision claim that social networking sites like Facebook boost the moral of our fighting men and women by keeping them connected to friends and family back home. Banning it would make their jobs more difficult. Secretary Lynn replied by saying that we wouldn’t be the Pentagon if we weren’t making bad decisions.
