Michael Steele is the hip-hop-loving head of the RNC. Now some Republicans are calling for his resignation because of his short feud with Rush Limbaugh. We actually started to feel bad for the guy. Steele recently sat down with GQ Magazine for an interview. Here are 18 reasons Michael Steele’s interview in GQ is going to piss of the GOP. All taken from his quotes in the article.
1. When GQ‘s Lisa DePaulo told Steele she was expecting hip-hop to be playing in his office, Stele said, ” Aw, shit. It’s on my, uh, computer there. I haven’t pulled it up yet, but I’ll get a little bit goin’ in a second or two.”
2. P. Diddy is his favorite rapper because he’s “sorta old-school that way.” Maybe that won’t piss the GOP off, per se, but that is a terrible answer.
3. He said Grandmaster Flash wasn’t hip-hop. Same as above. They won’t know why that’s stupid, but it’s still stupid.
4. Snoop Dogg “just reminded me of the fellas back home. So I’ve always throughly enjoyed him.”
5. He said Dean Martin “was one of those guys who just didn’t give an F.”
6. Then he said he loved the Pack Rats because he was a pack rat. He meant the Rat Pack.
7. He said the Republican Party has offered nothing to nonwhites.
8. He said he prays to God and says, “Hey, let me show just a little bit of love, so I absolutely don’t go out and kick this person’s ass.”
9. He said he loves to party.
10. He said being gay is part of nature.
11. He tried to reach out to Barack Obama “brother to brother.”
12. He said bipartisanship can’t work.
13. He said abortion is an “individual choice.”
14. He doesn’t know if he’d be head of the RNC if he was white.
15. He said if they closed a Starbucks in a black neighborhood, “We’ll riot!”
16. He almost voted for Jimmy Carter once.
17. He said he watches the Oscar red carpet shows because, “I’m looking for who’s got what dress on, you know? I’m looking at the dresses. I’m lookin’ at what they’re doing with the hair. I’m lookin at the fellas. Now, you know, guys are wearing black and white, and I get that, but there’s some style points I could share with some of these brothers out there who just ain’t gettin’ it together.”
