5 Entertainers Who Have Smoked Marijuana at the White House

Wednesday March 4, 2009 5:58 PM

We recently gave you a list of Presidents who had allegedly smoked marijuana. To add to the fun, we looked for people who were ballsy enough to spark up in the actual White House. Not surprisingly, the people we found were all musicians and/or comedians. Here are 5 entertainers who have smoked marijuana in the White House.

1-3. Graham Nash, Stephen Stills and David Crosby.

Better known as the folk rock supergroup, Crosby, Stills & Nash. In 1977, they performed for President Jimmy Carter at the White House. At one point, the group was left alone in the Oval Office. That’s when they decided to fire up a joint. Neil Young has probably been pissed about that for 32 years.

4. Willie Nelson

What is it with Jimmy Carter? Or does it have more to do with the time period (1977-1981) that he was President? Either way, Jimmy Carter had Willie Nelson perform at the White House and stay as a guest in 1978. During Nelson’s stay he wandered up on the roof (yes, of the fucking White House) and smoked “a big fat Austin torpedo.”

5. Rodney Dangerfield

Rodney Dangerfield said in a 2004 Rolling Stone interview that he’d once gotten stoned at the White House during the Reagan Administration. No respect, my ass.

Know of any others? We’re all ears.
