Michele Bachmann and the Hip-Hop Makeover of the Republican Party

Friday February 27, 2009 8:35 PM

We love Michele Bachmann. We started loving her when she told Chris Matthews there should be a media probe into anti-Americans in Congress. We loved her when she said America was running out of rich people. We loved her for thinking ACORN funding was in the stimulus bill. What could be better than those things? How about telling our New Favorite Person, Michael Steele, “You be da man!” at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

“Michael Steele! You be da man! You be da man!” – Michele Bachmann

The other sweet ass quote from CPAC was from Steele, himself. He was talking about the new GOP message. “We know the past, we know we did wrong. My bad.”

At this point you’ve got to start thinking the new Republican hip-hop thing is being advised by some brilliant African-American saboteur who is purposefully advising Steele and other Republicans on what hip-hop slang to say and making sure the terms they use are just out-of-date enough to be hilarious to other black people. If so, then that guy “be da man.”
