Did you hear it? Right as Bobby Jindal walked to the microphone to give his widely-panned speech (besides Kenneth from 30 Rock, people are calling him Mr. Rogers, a pre-school teacher and Richard Pryor’s ‘white man’ voice), Chris Matthews can be heard on a live microphone saying, “Oh God.”
Matthews’ explanation? “I was taken aback by that peculiar stagecraft,” Matthews says, “the walking from somewhere in the back of this narrow hall, this winding staircase looming there, the odd anti-bellum [sic] look of the scene. Was this some mimicking of a president walking along the state floor to the East Room?” In other words, “Oh God.”
