Media Matters had a recent report that in the three weeks surrounding the stimulus debate, only 6% of guests on cable news were actual economists. The rest of the 94% seem to be ‘strategists’ like the guy in the clip above. Good for sound bites and shouting matches. Not good for explaining whether or not this bill is going to help people. Maybe somebody should explain it to this guy. He seriously comes off like Cousin Eddie from the Vacation movies. “Pork-filled porkity pork pork. Pork and pork pork.” Great guest, Norah.
